Tim was invited to join the Rotary Club of Adelaide East (D9500) in 1990 and served as President in 1999-2000. He also held positions as Chairman of Community Service, International Service and Club Service committees of his Club and served as Club Sergeant at Arms for 2 years.
 
In 2001 he was appointed the D9500 representative on the A.C.S.O board and then served 2 years as Secretary/Treasurer. In 2004 he was appointed as District Chairman of D9500 International Service committee for 3.5 years and also served a year as AG.
 
In 2005 he was appointed District Representative for ShelterBox Australia and in 2010 was involved in transitioning ShelterBox from a club based project to a National Rotary based Charity. He served 2 years as initial Chairman of the Board and then a further 4 years as Company Secretary. He continued to serve on the Board of ShelterBox Australia as a director until July 2017 when he stepped down to concentrate on his selection as DG 2019-20 and the demands on his time that would take. He was awarded a Distinguished Service Award by ShelterBox Trust (UK) for services to Disaster relief in 2012. ShelterBox Australia appointed him Emeritus Ambassador in April 2017 in recognition of distinguished service in the areas of leadership, governance and management.
 
In 2008 a change in work commitments saw Tim transfer to RC Kidman Park, (D9500), an evening club and then in 2014 transferred to Coromandel Valley Rotary Club (D9520) after moving to Craigburn Farm. He was appointed AG (GP6 D9520) in 2016 and continued in that role until June 2018 as well as DGN. He currently serves as the Foundation Chairman of his Club. He is a Paul Harris Fellow with sapphire pin.
 
At the Rotary Zone 8 institute in Darwin in September 2017, Tim was nominated by his fellow DGN’s for year 2019/20 to be their elected member of the Board of RAWCS and he was elected for a 3 year period at the RAWCS AGM in September 2017.
 
Tim is an Audiologist by profession, having undertaken his undergraduate training in Adelaide at Flinders Uni, graduating in 1976 , and then  postgraduate training in Melbourne. He has worked in the Commonwealth sector, the Public Health system as senior Audiologist at the RAH and in private practise. He set up the first private practice Audiology clinic in SA in1981. He retired in 2016 but still does occasional locum work. He has been involved in the H.E.A.R.S program in D9500 and has done a number of trips to Tonga as a volunteer Audiologist in both assessment and training roles. He has served as State President of the Audiology Society of Australia and served 6 years on the Federal Executive of ASA. He served on the Board of the Deafness Foundation (SA Branch).
 
Tim served in the Army Reserve in both Australian Army Intelligence Corp and Australian Army Cadet Corp for a total of 16 years. He has served as a Senior Marshall at the Anzac Day service and March in Adelaide for many years and is a Service Member of the Blackwood RSL.
 
He is married to Bronwyn and collectively have 5 children and 5 grand children.
 
Tim enjoys fishing, especially at their shack on Yorke peninsula and studying Military history.
