Email all articles for either The Herald or the DG's Newsletter to d9520.editor@gmail.com.  Articles can either be in the body of the email, or as a Word attachment.  Attach PDF files if that is all you have.  Photographs in either jpg, gif, png or bmp format.
 
Articles will only be run in the current and next Herald (depending on the event date), after which they will need to be re-submitted.

Hello fellow Rotarians.
 
With only two weeks remaining to the District 9520 Conference in Mildura, Bronwyn and I are looking forward to welcoming you all to this event, the final District Conference for District 9520.
 
If you are still planning to attend, you have until the 17th March to register as we will need the following 10 days to finalise those activities that are dependant on numbers attending.

On behalf of District Governor Ron Degenhart and District Governor-Elect Merewyn Wright, District 9550 extends an invitation to join Timorese Rotarians and Rotaractors at the inaugural Zone 8 Rotary Timor-Leste Project Expo in Dili, Timor-Leste at the Timor Plaza Hotel on the 14th -16th of August 2020.

Commitment and a sense of community continue to define the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, from the highest decision-making bodies to frontline health workers around the world.

On 22 January, Rotary and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced that they would extend their long-term fundraising partnership, which generates up to $150 million annually for polio eradication.

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Lee Camporeale from the Rotary Club of Mitcham and in this Rotary year I am looking after the Centurion Program for District 9520, a program which encourages Rotarians to donate $100 (AUD) or more to The Rotary Foundation – Our Charity, each year for as long as they are able.

Three weeks ago I came home after my Rotary Club meeting and watched the show Struggle Street on SBS. My first thoughts were that Rotary can make a difference to this family, the Zaric family of Nangus.
Rotary Club of Onkaparinga Rania School Renovation
This project is to renovate and modernize four schools in the town of RANIA situated in Kurdistan to allow better sanitation and hygiene, thereby enhancing much needed
education especially for girls who are missing out on a monthly bases due to lack of toilet facility privacy and to also repair general class room standards to increase student and staff safety.

Annual Photograph and Video Competition
The Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group (WASRAG) plans to create a digital library of photographs and videos available to all Rotarians to promote WASH projects on social media, websites, flyers and other promotional materials.
Harmony Week
Harmony Week is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate our vibrant cultural diversity and Australian values of inclusion and respect, and to promote the theme “Everyone Belongs”.  The Australian Government leads and supports celebrations for Harmony Week.
SA Districts Drought Relief Project
You have an opportunity to support rural communities located in drought declared areas of our Rotary Districts 9500/9520 by directing RAWCS monies amounting to $200,000 to communities you find in need.

Rotary Club of Onkaparinga Hills Brixpo
In a recent disaster, the TV news showed a man lamenting his loss. “I’ve lost all my office stuff and my LEGO” he said as he sifted through the wreckage.
What more is there to say? Picking up on the LEGO sentiment, the Onkaparinga Rotary Club, is planning a major expo in the Hills for March 14th and 15th.
