From the District Governor
I have received two pieces of correspondence that I want to share with you.

The first regards the Centenary of Rotary in Australia which is approaching. Bob Aitken, Chairman, History and Archives Committee, RI Zone 8, states that "The Zone History and Archives Committee is determined to ensure that ‘grass roots’ Rotary throughout Australia is fairly and well covered. This will only happen with the support of your Rotary clubs".

This important and historic event needs our clubs support and input to make sure the history of Rotary in Australia is well documented.

The second regards the Results of the Zone 8 Director Nominating Committee. John Hewko, General Secretary, RI states that "In accordance with RI Bylaws section 11.020., the Nominating Committee for RI Director in Zone 8 recently certified that it selected Rotarian Jessie H. Harman, a member of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast, as a RI director in 2021–23".

Membership
Why Passport Clubs Work
A passport club is a Rotary club that encourages members to attend meetings of other Rotary clubs as long as they attend a specified number of meetings in their own club each year. Members are also encouraged to participate in service projects organized by other clubs. On the Gold Coast of Australia, Rotarians are using a passport club to reach young professionals who want to use their passion, energy, and intelligence to better their community.
